 fairfax-divorce-attorney-sara-leiner-schuler-thumbSara Leiner Schuler is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), and practices all aspects of family law in the Northern Virginia area, including Divorce, Child Custody, Child Support, Spousal Support and Alimony, Prenuptial Agreements, Step-Parent Adoptions (including Same-Sex Step-Parent Adoptions), Uncontested Divorces, and Enforcement Issues. Ms. Schuler also represents clients in the Collaborative Divorce process, a voluntary team-based approach in which a couple chooses to divorce without contested litigation to best meet their respective individual needs and the needs of any minor children.

Ms. Schuler practices family law in both the Circuit and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts of Fairfax County, Arlington County, Alexandria City, Prince William County and Loudoun County.

Ms. Schuler has been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Virginia Super Lawyer in Family Law, on the Top 50 Women list, and on the Top 100 Lawyers list, and as a Washington, D.C. Super Lawyer in Family Law. She was also recognized by Northern Virginia Magazine as a Top Lawyer, by Arlington Magazine as a Top Attorney, and by Virginia Business Legal Elite and The Best Lawyers in America. She is a member of the Collaborative Professionals of Northern Virginia (CPNV), Virginia Collaborative Professionals (VaCP), International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), Virginia Bar Association (VBA), Virginia State Bar (VSB), Fairfax County Bar Association (FBA), Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA), and Virginia Women Attorneys Association (VWAA).

Ms. Schuler is the current President-elect of the Collaborative Professionals of Northern Virginia, is the former Co-Chair of the Conciliation Committee of the Fairfax County Bar Association, and is a current member of the Family Law Section. She has served on the Board of the Arlington County Bar Association.

Ms. Schuler is a native of Fairfax, Virginia, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. She earned her law degree from Emory University. Before entering private practice, Ms. Schuler was a law clerk for Fairfax County Circuit Court Judge Randy I. Bellows.  She then practiced as a family law attorney in downtown Washington, D.C. In 2007, Ms. Schuler joined the family law division of Bean, Kinney & Korman, P.C. in Arlington, Virginia, where she worked until opening the Law Office of Sara Leiner Schuler, PLC in early 2016.
